Exploring & developing effective strategies for both prevention & management
Book AppointmentChallenging behaviour in intellectual disability refers to a range of behaviours that are difficult to manage and can negatively impact the individual's life and the lives of those around them. These behaviours can include aggression, self-injury, property destruction, and non-compliance, and they are often more common in individuals with intellectual disabilities than in the general population.
Working with clients in therapy who have intellectual disabilities (ID) requires a compassionate, flexible, and structured approach. Here are some key considerations and strategies I use in my therapeutic approach in my 18 years of experience in this area:
Experience compassionate and professional care with focus on your mental wellness and growth.
Taking a holistic approach to mental health - addressing mind, body, and spirit for comprehensive healing.
